My Journey with Analytics Avenue: Hello everyone! I am Abinaya Palanisamy, a final year Computer Science student. I joined Analytics Avenue through Mega Internship program last August. SQL trainings and mentor's guidance helped me to improve my querying skills. Tasks and Case Studies helped me to reinforce the theoretical knowledge into practical skills. Then the Power BI trainings enabled me to add artistic touch to the data to communicate the data - driven insights better. Doing the real-time projects allowed me to learn new things and let me explore the problems and datasets of different domains. The guidance of the mentors helped me to navigate the core problems and solutions which I need to be focused on in a clear way. INTRODUCTION In the past few years, Government of Tamil Nadu had implemented numerous schemes on various categories which are utilized by people in their daily lives. Students from school to college are obtaining huge benefits from the recently implemented schemes. We can see a lot of new schemes which are focusing on training the top students in the state through Industrial expert master classes or through traineeship. Then, there are schemes which aim to empower the women and agriculture. So, in this Data Analytics project I am going to analyze the survey responses of the public to assess the impact of the schemes. OPERATIONAL INTEGRATION Policy Refinement: To refine the policies to address and satisfy the needs of people. Resource Allocation: To allocate resources efficiently for each category of schemes. Enhanced Government: To improve the governance and better-targeted interventions. Community Engagement: To foster the community engagement and make them participate in government initiatives. Improving accountability: To enhance the accountability and transparency in public administration. OBJECTIVE This analysis aims to assess the awareness of the scheme, the ease of access to the schemes and its information and the satisfaction of people towards the scheme which were implemented or refined during the period of 2021 - 23. By studying the satisfaction rate, benefit rate and awareness rate we can derive data - driven insights which will be helpful in refining the policies for gaining better community engagement and to improve the overall governance. TOOLS USED Google forms: To collect the community responses. Google Sheets: To store the data collected from surveys. Power BI: To clean, manipulate and visualize data. CORE UNDERSTANDINGS INVOLVEMENT DEMOGRAPHICS Female survey participants outnumbers the population of male survey participants. Most of the survey participants were from Tiruchirapalli. The funnel chart shows that a huge population of survey participants were either Bachelor's student or a degree holder. A majority of 78% of Survey participants were students. AWARENESS OUTREACH A Majority of 85% survey participants were aware of the schemes. There is a significant number of participants who were aware of Educational schemes more than any other schemes. Women Welfare Schemes has the highest awareness score followed by Education. Television seems to be the awareness medium which had created more awareness to a huge population of survey participants. Kalaignar Nalam Vazhvu Nilaiyam scheme has secured the highest awareness rate while, the Transgender Welfare Board scheme got the least awareness rate. Spreading the awareness of the scheme is a very crucial part in gaining the involvement of people in the government initiatives. Without proper awareness, it will be really hard to increase the community engagement towards the scheme which might cause the failure of the scheme. In order to create more awareness the following steps can be implemented: Creating scheme awareness using the media where the content will reach wider range of audience like television, newspaper and social media platforms. If the scheme is an educational scheme we can create awareness to the students through the teachers. Creating a local language scheme awareness campaign in digital platforms. Organizing seminars and awareness campaigns in villages, community centers and public spaces. Collaborating with local media outlets and social media influencers to reach vast audience. Encouraging community leaders and social workers to become advocates for the schemes to promote the participation and disseminating information about the schemes. ACCESSIBILITY CONVENIENCE 87.18% of survey participants feel that the schemes and scheme information can be accessed easily. Educational schemes seems to be the easiest category of schemes to access. Women Welfare Schemes are exhibit notable disparity in access difficulty with certain initiatives posing significant challenges while others are more easily attainable. Majority of Participants who got to know about the scheme through friends found that the schemes are easily accessible. Enhancing the accessibility of schemes will improve the community engagement towards the scheme. Some of the ways to raise the accessibility of the schemes are: Streamlining online application processes and offering paper form of applications to the people with low digital literacy. Reducing the number of documents needed for eligibility checks. Providing assistance to fill out the forms by collaborating with NGOs, Community leaders and local organizations. Translating the application and information materials in local language. Conducting targeted- outreach program where high population of people may get benefitted. Providing clear and concise document information about the eligibility criteria, application processes and benefits. Establishing clear and accessible issue addressing mechanisms to solve the issues and clear the doubts in the application processes. PUBLIC CONTENTMENT INDEX 85% of survey participants reported that they were satisfied with the schemes they have utilized. Kalaignar Nalam Vazhvu Nilaiyam scheme has the highest satisfaction rate whereas Nehru Trophy for Excellence in school has the lowest satisfaction rate. Women welfare schemes had the highest satisfaction scores of all the other categories. From the line chart we can conclude that the satisfaction score of the people is directly proportional to the ease of access to the schemes. From the line and column chart we get that the scheme awareness also positively influences the satisfaction rate of the schemes. Providing a satisfactory scheme utilization is the main objective for any schemes implementation. Some of the ways to increase the satisfaction of schemes are: Make sure the application processes are efficient and the application sites are user-friendly. Deliver the promised benefits in a timely manner. Clearly communicate the eligibility criteria and selection processes to avoid the perception of unfairness. Providing quality services and monitoring the outcomes of the schemes regularly to optimize the scheme utilization. Showcasing real-time success stories of people who have benefitted from the schemes to inspire others to take initiative. PROGRAM BENEFICIARIES 86% of participants states that they have been benefitted by the schemes. Women Welfare schemes acquired the highest benefit rate of all. A Majority of Survey Participants with low household income were benefitted highly from the schemes. Survey Participants belong to the age group 30-40 were reported to have the highest benefit rate of all the other age groups. Kalaignar Nalam Vazhvu Nilaiyam scheme has the highest benefit rate while Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam scheme has the lowest benefit rate. By implementing all the steps to enhance the awareness of the scheme and ease of access described we can achieve more satisfaction rate and benefit rate which results accomplishing the main objective of the scheme. COMPLETE PERSPECTIVE This analysis is done with a limited amount of people who are mostly students. So, this analysis contains more insights about Educational schemes and Women Welfare Schemes. Reaching a wider classification of people can help to analyze all the Scheme Categories better. It will also be useful to actually make actionable steps and effective decision making on other scheme categories too. CONCLUSION In summary, we can say that there is a need for streamlined analytical approach to analyze the effectiveness of Government Schemes. This analysis will help the policymakers to gain actionable insights, leading to better decision-making, optimized resource allocation results in socioeconomic development of the region. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Analytics Avenue and the Survey participants who contributed to the Tamil Nadu schemes survey. Your valuable participation have enriched our understanding of this schemes landscape, paving the way for informed-decision making. Thank you for your endeavor. With Sincere Appreciation, Abinaya Palanisamy.
